The Burns House Museum in Mauchline, Scotland, is dedicated to the life and work of the Scottish national poet Robert Burns. Burns spent a significant portion of his creative period here. It houses an extensive collection of original manuscripts, personal items, and publications that provide insights into Burns' time in Mauchline and his relationships with the local personalities.

An outstanding exhibit is the original "Kilmarnock Edition" of Burns' poems, which is considered the first collection of his works. In addition to the exhibitions, the museum offers an audiovisual insight into the life of Robert Burns. This was an unexpected find, but glad we called in. A small museum but very well set out and very informative. If you are driving through Mauchlin flow the signs to the car park then there is a 5 minutes walk back up to the main street through very interesting alleys. The whole stop could be less than an hour, but it would be an hour well spent.

I gave this place 4 stars even though I'm disabled and couldn't go in, my wife went in and videod it for me. It's easy for the trustees to say it's an old building so can't be made disabled friendly. Sorry guys make a DVD and sell it, you would be quid in and make money
